Three people in Neshoba County are dead after a crash with an 18-wheeler early Friday morning. Sheriff Tommy Waddell has confirmed that the crash happened on Highway 491 and County Road 767, near Bogue Chitto, a Native American community.
The three passengers in the vehicle were all Native American; two men and one woman were killed as a result of the crash.
An official cause of the crash is currently being investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, but Waddell says after an initial investigation it appears that the passenger vehicle pulled out in front of the 18-wheeler.
Names of those killed has not been released, and the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
