FORREST COUNTY, Miss.–A third death from West Nile Virus in Mississippi has been confirmed by the Mississippi State Health Department.
This time it was a resident of Forrest County that was a previously reported case of the virus.
So far this year there have been 43 cases reported in the state, which is much lower than the 2012 total of 247.
This now makes two deaths in Forrest County from West Nile along with one more in Bolivar County.
You can protect yourself by removing standing water near your home along with wearing long, protective clothing and spraying down.
