A third suspect has been arrested in connection to a shooting that left one dead and multiple injured at a Utica nightclub on Sunday.
Anthony Brown, 48, was taken into custody Monday evening and charged with murder and three counts of aggravated assault. Brown, who was reportedly shot during the incident, joins Eric Dixon, 42, and Joseph Crum, 34, behind bars. Those two are facing the same charges as Brown.
Gunfire erupted at the nightclub on Lee Davis Circle just before midnight Sunday with deputies responding to find Jason Harris, 41, shot multiple times and dead on the scene. Three other victims – later identified as Michael Brown, 53, Deidra Williams, 29, and Lorenzo Cooper, 22 – were transported to a local hospital.
Officials with the HCSO confirmed their belief that the shooting stemmed from an altercation involving the deceased and a group of other bargoers. One of the suspects, Dixon, is the brother of Harris, who was killed.
Investigators recovered a handgun, a revolver, and 23 shell casings on the scene. Other arrests and charges are possible as the investigation continues. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact HCSO at (601)352-1521.
