HATTIESBURG, Miss.–Another arrest was made in the murder of two Hattiesburg police officers. The Miss. Bureau of Investigation announced Wednesday afternoon that they charged Abram “Pete” Franklin, 29, of Hattiesburg, with obstruction of justice.
The agency offered no other other information on Franklin or why he was charged.
Agents did say they had located and talked with the two people seen in the surveillance video from the motel where Marvin Banks was captured and that they were not charged.
Four other people, including Banks, have been charged in the death. Banks is charged with capital murder.
Meanwhile, the funeral for Officer Benjamin Deen was set for Thursday at 11 a.m. at West Temple Baptist. Burial will be in Sumrall.
Officer Liquori Tate’s funeral is Saturday.
