Two Mobile, Alabama natives have been locked up for multiple crimes after leading law enforcement on an hours-long pursuit.
First reported by WTVA, 19-year-old Colby Duboise and 18-year-old Jeffrey Fillingame were apprehended in Calhoun County on Thursday after evading police for a good portion of the day.
Police began pursuing the duo after the vehicle they were operating nearly struck a road crew in the Gualey area. The two were reported to have been driving at speeds upwards of 100 miles per hour during the chase.
Authorities say the duo later exited the vehicle and escaped on foot into the Yalobusha River. Duboise was captured after running through a briar patch, which scraped his body. Fillingame was caught after hiding in swamp water for a couple of hours.
The two face charges of felony fleeing and assault on an officer. Duboise is also wanted for grand theft auto and burglary back home in Mobile.
The two will be extradited to Alabama after facing their charges in Mississippi.
