Charges will likely not be filed against a Monroe County educator accused of taping students to their chairs.
A pair of parents with children at Hatley Elementary School reached out to a local TV station in April to complain about their children coming home and telling them that other kids in the classroom had been taped to their chairs. The parents told WTVA that while their children were not part of the unconventional restrain method, two of their peers were.
Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook has since confirmed that he does not expect parents of the pupils involved to press charges against the teacher whose identity continues to be withheld.
School officials have not publicly commented on the incident at this time as they do not weigh in on personnel matters. The teacher involved is reportedly still employed by Hatley Elementary.
