JACKSON, Miss. – When the state is suffering from decreases in state revenue, is cutting taxes the right option?
That answer typical falls on where you stand politically.
Both state the House and Senate filed Senate Bill 2858, just before midnight Sunday.
In it, $400 million in tax cuts would be spread out over the next 12 years.
The bill would also phase out over $250 million in corporate franchise taxes and cut millions in income taxes.
It’s believed that anyone making over $10,000 a year would get at least a $150 dollar tax cut.
