Suspect Files Police Brutality Suit

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. – An Aberdeen man is suing Monroe County and several unnamed deputies who arrested him following an alleged domestic dispute at this home in October 2012.

Joshua Page says deputies tackled him to the ground, handcuffed him, beat him and called him an obscenity.  His complaint said as a result, he suffered a number of severe injuries, including fractures to his head. Page also claims that deputies covered his head and face so that his family would not see the damage.

He is asking for actual damages in an amount to be determined by a jury, but not less than $500,000.  He is also asking for actual and punitive damages from the unnamed individual defendants in an amount to be set by a jury.
