The Mississippi Bureau is investigating a Pike County shooting that left an officer deceased, a suspect dead, and two policemen with injuries.
A fatal exchange of gunfire between the unidentified suspect, Summit officer Troy Floyd, McComb officer Joey Roberts, and McComb officer Tyler Harvey the city of Summit to lock down on Thursday.
The shooting is reported to have taken place near a local Piggly Wiggly on Highway 51. According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, police were stationed at a checkpoint near West Railroad Avenue when a car approached and a passenger subject presented a weapon toward the officers.
Floyd is reported to have been killed after the suspect opened fire. Roberts was shot in the leg, but retaliated and killed the suspect. Harvey was also struck during the shooting. He and Roberts are both suffering from non-fatal injuries.

In response to the incident, the city of Summit canceled all Thursday court dates and plans to reschedule them at another time.
