A grand jury has indicted Timothy Herrington, Jr., for the murder of Ole Miss student Jimmie “Jay” Lee.

On Monday, prosecutors brought forth evidence against the 22-year-old before a judge. The grand jury found Herrington guilty of capital murder and he was served his indictment by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.

Herrington remains out on the bond that was set on December 1 after his legal team reached an agreement with District Attorney Ben Creekmore and withdrew their lawsuit against the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department.

Further trial dates and court proceedings will be scheduled at a later date.

As of now, authorities are continuing to search for Lee’s body, which has been missing since June 8, 2022.
