SuperTalk Mississippi Media’s 10th Annual Radiothon benefiting Palmer Home for Children is set to take place this Thursday, July 14.
Listeners from across the state are invited to tune in to SuperTalk Mississippi between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a 12-hour radiothon featuring children, alumni, staff, and supporters of Palmer Home as they share personal testimonies about their relationship with the 127-year-old organization. Stories will be shared throughout The Gallo Radio Show, MidDays with Gerard Gibert, Good Things with Rebecca Turner, and SportsTalk Mississippi.
“We are grateful for SuperTalk Mississippi for providing a platform for Palmer Home to share what we’re doing in the lives of children and families, and we are excited to connect with listeners throughout Mississippi,” said Drake Bassett, President & CEO of Palmer Home for Children. “Each year, we hear from listeners who have personal connections to Palmer Home, from those who are led to support us for the first time, and from those who know of a child in desperate need of our services. We’re thankful for this partnership and look forward to this year’s event.”
In 2012, SuperTalk Mississippi declared Palmer Home for Children as the network’s charity of choice and established the annual Radiothon to support the needs of the organization.
Since its inception in 2012, this annual event has raised more than $2 million for the children at Palmer Home. Last year’s event raised more than $334,564 and celebrated the two-year anniversary of the J.T. Williamson Education Support Fund, named in honor of the beloved JT Show host.
“For the past 10 years, our partnership with the Palmer Home for Children has helped change and impact the lives of Mississippi children and young adults,” said Kim Dillon, President of SuperTalk Mississippi Media. “We are honored to once again partner with Palmer Home as our charity of choice and are proud of the difference each donation will make to restore and strengthen children as they transition from vulnerable situations. This 127-year-old faith-based non-profit organization accepts zero federal or state dollars and depends solely on private donations. Each year we are blown away by the generous contributions of our listeners and continue to see firsthand that hope really does grow at Palmer Home.”
