SuperTalk Mississippi Media’s 11th annual radiothon benefitting Palmer Home for Children is officially underway.
Listeners from across Mississippi are invited to tune in to SuperTalk Mississippi from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for a 12-hour radiothon featuring interviews by individuals who have been directly impacted by Palmer Home’s mission, including children currently in care, alumni, staff, and supporters. Stories will be shared throughout The Gallo Show, MidDays with Gerard Gibert, Good Things with Rebecca Turner, and SportsTalk Mississippi.
“Radiothon is an incredible opportunity for Palmer Home and one of our most beloved annual events,” said Drake Bassett, President & CEO of Palmer Home for Children. “It not only raises vital funds for our mission but also raises awareness for our organization by allowing thousands of listeners to hear first-hand about how Palmer Home has been changing lives for the past 128 years. Through Radiothon, we’ve been able to connect with families in need of our services, recruit volunteers and reach new supporters. We are so grateful for our partnership with SuperTalk and look forward to this year’s event.”
In 2012, SuperTalk Mississippi declared Palmer Home for Children as the network’s charity of choice and established the annual Radiothon to support the needs of the organization.
Since its inception, the annual event has raised nearly $2.5 million for the children at Palmer Home and has become Palmer Home’s largest one-day fundraiser. Last year’s event alone raised more than $343,000 for the Mississippi-based nonprofit.
“For the 11th year in a row SuperTalk is partnering with Palmer Home and offering our platform to raise awareness for their much-needed mission,” said Kim Dillon, President, and CEO of SuperTalk Mississippi Media. “We are excited to support Palmer Home as they do not rely on government funding, so events like our annual Radiothon are critical to ensuring that this organization can continue to serve the vulnerable children and families in our state. SuperTalk loves giving back to our communities in many ways, but Palmer Home holds a special place in our hearts. Each year we look forward to sharing the wonderful work being done at Palmer Home with our listeners.”
