JACKSON, Miss. – Couples who drink together, or choose to abstain from alcohol together, are more likely to stay together according to a new study.
In an article published in the Journals of Gerontology, couples who shared the same drinking habits tended to be happier.
More than 2,700 couples were examined, each have been married for more than ten years.
According to the research, it didn’t matter how much the couples drank, just whether or not they did it together.
It was found that 20 percent of men and 6 percent of the women in the study had a serious drinking problem.
