JACKSON, Miss. – The mother of a three-year-old found alone walking about south Jackson streets early Wednesday will not face charges.
“DHS (Mississippi Department of Human Services) has talked with the mother,” said Jackson Police Department Spokeswoman Colendula Green. “There was some type of communication error between the adults living in the home and also the parent (about who would watch the child).”
The toddler was about a half mile away from his home when a day care worker got him away from traffic and called police. The child was able to take investigators to his home, where he was given back to his mother.
