TUPELO, Miss.–A series of showers and storms dumped heavy rain on north Mississippi, as well as other parts of the state Sunday. But, it is the northern third of Mississippi that is under a flash flood watch.
The watch is in effect through Tuesday at 1 p.m.
“We’ll see another upper level disturbance move across the region tonight,” said Corey Chaskelson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “That’ll bring another round of showers and thunderstorms and also the potential for heavy rainfall through Tuesday morning.”
He said the best chances for storms will begin in the evening hours.
Chaskelson said a pattern of afternoon and evening storms will continues through the rest of the week..
