STONE COUNTY, Miss. –
Stone County is warning its residents of possible phone scammers.
The sheriff’s department says the scammers are claiming to work for Walmart and tell residents that their debit card has been overcharged and need their banking information to fix the overcharge.
Numerous residents have called the sheriff’s department to report the matter and luckily no one has given out their information.
If you receive one of these phone calls, you need to hang up and call the sheriff’s office.
