A jailer in Stone County is now on the other side of justice after allegedly smuggling contraband into a county-owned garbage truck for inmate use.
Bryan Rodgers, an inmate work supervisor at the Stone County Regional Correction Facility, is accused of hiding illicit items in the truck. Investigators assessed the truck on January 10 and found contraband inside the vehicle.
According to a report from local law enforcement, the truck was at the jail to return inmate workers. What was later discovered was that Rodgers allowed inmates to use, ingest, or partake in the unidfentified contraband, which was concealed within the cab of his assigned vehicle.
On Thursday, Rodgers was arrested and charged with possession of prohibited items by persons other than offenders. His case will be handled in the Stone County Justice Court.
