WIGGINS, Miss. – Paddle, pedal and pant, it’s time for Stone County’s 2nd annual Flint Creek PX3 Tri Series.
The race will begin Saturday, Oct. 4 at 8 a.m. at the Flint Creek Water Park.
Betsy Rowell Executive Director with Stone County Economic Development Partnership says the race is made up of three activities; kayaking, bike riding, and running.
“It’s for people who are quite athletic. It was very well attended and had great participation last year, so we’re doing this event again this year,” Rowell said.
The race started with some local runners that wanted to bring this event to their own town, so some volunteers joined together to make it happen for the first time last year.
“The event is a fundraiser for Stone County’s Chamber of Commerce and our Chamber of Commerce supports small business development.” Rowell said, “They do special events throughout the year that enhance the quality of life of Stone County and this is just one of the events they do to raise money to actually underwrite the things that are the chamber activities over the course of the year.”
