Mississippi State is back in action tomorrow night at Davis Wade Stadium, and the Bulldogs are looking to keep the early season momentum going. I asked for some questions earlier today on Twitter, and here’s what you guys are wanting to know.
How much action you think Aeris gets this weekend?

With this game and the Bulldogs likely to win by a large margin, I would expect Aeris Williams to get a good number of snaps. After this week, I’m not so sure. A year ago at Penn State, Saquon Barkley was the only running back to get more than 31 carries. Moorhead likes to find a workhorse back and give them the ball, and Kylin Hill has definitely earned that spot thus far. I think Williams won’t be a big part of the Bulldog offense after this weekend.
Do you see Fitzgerald getting 30-35 pass attempts this weekend to not only build confidence in the downfield passing game, but also to get more reps in before this next 3 game stretch. We have a violent defense, great rbs, and Fitz can run so not too worried abt minor flaws.

Obviously I’m not the coach, but if I were, I would spend this weekend trying to give Fitzgerald confidence in his arm, so I’d be working the short to intermediate passing game just to get some completions. Obviously I’d still take some shots deep, but I would be focusing on hitting some 10-15 passes over the course of the game, not just for Fitzgerald but for Thompson too. That said, this is an opponent MSU should beat without much trouble, so Moorhead can devise whatever plan he wants. I won’t be surprised if it is very similar to what we have seen the past two weeks.
@brianhadad In 2 games this season, State’s QBs have accounted for 845 yards of total offense and 9 TDs. Is overal production not the most important metric?

Yards and touchdowns are what you are working towards, of course, but the big plays the Bulldogs have hit early this season are going to be harder to come by when they face SEC defenses. It’s also reasonable to assume MSU won’t be rushing for nearly 400 yards week in and week out come conference play. Fitzgerald’s completion percentage may be a bit overblown at this point, but I doubt Moorhead is satisfied with his quarterbacks throwing under 45%. If he’s concerned, fans should be too.
Should I get the philly or a burger for lunch today at J-Towns in Jonesboro, AR for lunch?

Without even looking at the menu or knowing anything about this restaurant, I’m going philly cheesesteak, which is to me, the undisputed king of sandwiches. A quick sandwich rating for you…
1. Philly cheesesteak
2. Fried shrimp po-boy
3. Sloppy roast beef po-boy
4. Meatball sub
5. Fried chicken sandwich (preferably the Clucking Double Wide at the Stagger In)
