HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Senator Thad Cochran gets the spotlight on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report, but instead of getting a chance to earn the respect of voters, he became the butt of a satirical joke, which is not uncommon on the talk show.
Colbert pokes fun at Cochran’s speech he gave to a crowd in Hattiesburg where he recalled his childhood, notably, “all kinds of indecent things with animals.” Later, Cochran told reporters he must have been misunderstood and did not remember saying it.
