Steep Hill, one of the oldest medical marijuana testing companies in the nation, has become the first lab to receive approval to test cannabis flower in Mississippi.
According to Steep Hill, the testing includes an analytical process that promotes confidence in the potency and safety screening of medical marijuana for public consumption.
More specifically, the lab will serve to test marijuana for levels of THC and terpenes along with undesirable elements like pesticides, fungus, and bacteria to ensure their product is safe for patient use.
“Robust and reliable testing is critical to ensure that the final products are safe for patients,” Mark Henderson, President and Co-founder of Steep Hill Mississippi said. “Steep Hill Mississippi is committed to providing a safe and reliable supply of this important product to Mississippians who have long awaited the ability to purchase medical marijuana in their state.”
The California-based company was the first cannabis lab in Mississippi to begin ISO/IEC-17025:2017 accreditation, as well as being the first testing facility to begin the ISO Accreditation process in April 2022.
So far, Steep Hill has laboratories in nine states, Canada, and Mexico, with the newest testing facility being recently built in Jackson, Mississippi.
