SENATOBIA, Miss.–It was a motorcycle wreck on a city street in Senatobia Tuesday that killed a police officer. State Trooper Eric Lentz, 47, is dead after another driver turned in front of him, reoports Action News 5 in Memphis.
Lentz was off duty when the wreck happened. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
Funeral services had not been announced as of Tuesday afternoon. Lentz was in line to be promoted to the Miss. Bureau of Investigations.
