OMAHA, Neb.–The College World Series isn’t over yet and Mississippi State is still a contender in the final round. The Bulldogs have a new challenge ahead of them, though: to win the next two games or face elimination.
The “Diamond Dawgs” lost the first game to UCLA Monday, 3-1.
The Bruins exhausted their scoring run by the top of the fourth, with State coming in to score their first and only run in the seventh.
The next battle is Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Omaha could be described, and has been by some, as Starkville North, with cowbells and maroon dominating the scene. Thousands made the trip to support the homeboys and many are staying for the lang haul.
