OXFORD, Miss.- The State College Board has reached outside of its comfort zone all the way to Texas to find a replacement for Dr. Dan Jones. They hired R. William Funk & Associates Consulting Firm on Thursday to lead the search.
The firm will be paid $110,000. Board officials say that the search is expected to be completed by the end of the year, but it could take longer.
Commissioner of Higher Education Glenn Boyce says the firm’s CEO, Bill Funk, is “one of the finest search consultants in the nation.”
The next chancellor will succeed Doctor Dan Jones, who recently accepted a position with the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Obesity Research unit. Provost Morris Stocks is filling in as interim Chancellor until someone new is hired.
