A suspect in Leake County was taken into custody Monday night following a six-hour standoff with police.
While the suspect’s name has not been released yet, SuperTalk Mississippi News has been informed that law enforcement responded to a situation in the Red Water community around 3 p.m. The suspect was barricaded inside the home with a firearm on Dixon Road on the reservation owned by the Choctaw Indian Tribe.
After multiple failed attempts to negotiate with the suspect, officers breached the home and apprehended the suspect around 9 p.m. Details remain slim as of Tuesday morning.
Considering the situation happened on tribal land, the FBI is expected to take over the case.
