Jordan Kyle Cummins is back behind bars.
According to WLBT, Cummins, 27, was taken into custody Tuesday night for simple assault. Cummins, who was controversially granted bond earlier this month after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, is now being held in Rankin County.
The Florence native was originally arrested in late March after Joshua Spann, 27, and Jubilee Simpkins, 23, were killed blocks away from the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown Jackson, where thousands of people were gathered.
Upon arrest, a video surfaced on social media of Cummins bragging about the murders while in jail. He later claimed self-defense.
“Free me, man. You walk up on me, and I’m going to bust your [expletive],” Cummins could be heard saying in the video. “It’s real, man. I know it looks sweet, but [expletive] ain’t sweet, man. Two dead.”
Cummins, whose girlfriend was also arrested for her alleged role in the murders, is set to go before a jury in November.
