Around the Magnolia State, you’ll find a significant amount of Irish celebration as St. Patrick’s Day nears. In fact, just about every corner of the state represents Ireland in some form or fashion.
Just a few examples: the DeSoto Central High school band will be featured in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York this year.
Further south, some 50,000 people are expected to descend upon the capital city for the Mal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade and festival. One of the largest in the U.S., it regularly raises $30,000 for Batson Children”s Hospital.
Along the coast, you’ll have trouble finding a city that DOESN’T celebrate with a parade or street fest: from Waveland to Pass Christian to Biloxi and Ocean Springs, there’s almost no end to your choices for exuberance this weekend.
