PASCAGOULA, Miss.- Singing River Health System’s trustees say they are not going to resign despite the Jackson County Board of Supervisors asking them to step down.
Supervisors Monday approved a resolution asking for the SRHS trustees they appointed to step down, effective immediately. Supervisors said the resignations would restore faith in the health system.
The Sun Herald reports, Michael Heidelberg, president of the trustees said the trustees voted unanimously to remain on the county-owned hospital system’s board of trustees for several reasons, but primarily because they want to continue to serve through the hospital system’s financial crisis.
