JACKSON, Miss.- Hazmat crews arrived on the scene Thursday at a Jackson apartment complex where they found what they expect to be a “Spice Lab.” Two people were arrested at around 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the Red Apple Inn apartments, located at 2315 McFadden Road. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics were the ones doing the arresting, but the Mississippi Department of Environment Quality was on the scene as well.
Over 80 people have been treated in the past week for spice overdoses, according to officials at UMMC. However, it is not known at this time if this bust is related to this recent wave of overdoses that began Easter weekend.
