The Southern Miss men’s basketball team will be playing postseason hoops.
Though the Golden Eagles (25-7, 14-4 Sun Belt), who were regular season conference champions, fell just shy of an NCAA Tournament bid, the team will be featured in the National Invitation Tournament
USM was selected as a 5 seed in the Birmingham Region. Their first game will be against 4-seed UAB on Tuesday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m. CT in Birmingham, Ala. against a familiar coaching foe in Andy Kennedy, who formerly served as Ole Miss’ head coach. Kennedy holds a 7-2 overall record versus the Golden Eagles as a head coach.
