HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of Southern Mississippi is about to host a national marathon safety summit. Runner and race management consultant Josh Nemzer will headline the event Dec. 8-10 on the Gulf Park campus.
Marathon summits have been taking place ever since the Boston Marathon bombings back in 2013.
Lou Marciani is director of the universities National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and tells WLBT that the recent tragedies in Paris, once again, show the need for safer stadiums and outdoor events.
