HATTIESBURG, Miss.- While most students in the state are probably relaxing on a beach somewhere, members of the Pride of Mississippi are preparing for the trip of a lifetime.
St. Patricks Day in Dublin, Ireland is known to be one of the biggest celebrations in the world, so naturally, accompanying it is one of the biggest parades in the world. The Pride of Mississippi has marched in this parade twice before in the past 25-30 years, but this will be the first since the 90’s. They are packing up and taking 130 members with them.
The band leaves Thursday, March 12th and will return on the 19th. The parade will be 2.5 miles long and the band will play the school’s fight song as they march.
