SOUTHAVEN, Miss.- Southaven residents were given a chance to get rid of their warrants without facing extra penalties last week.
Southaven police cleared 235 cases during the city’s annual “Safe Surrender” program that allows people with outstanding warrants to settle them without fear of additional penalties.
Lt. Mark Little told the Commercial Appeal, 69 people settled 235 warrants last week.
Southaven began the “Safe Surrender” program in 2012 to help clear old misdemeanor warrants. Thousands of dollars have been collected since the start of the program.
