We’re monitoring a system in the northern Gulf of Mexico for possible development.
Disorganized showers and thunderstorms are associated with a trough of low pressure. The National Hurricane Center expects the system to meander near the northern Gulf coast through the end of the week, and gradual development is possible if it remains offshore.
Regardless of development, heavy rains will pose the risk of flash flooding along portions of the coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle over the next several days.
The chance of formation over the next 48 hours is 10%. Formation chances over the next 5 days are 30%.
