Sorry Kids, Looks Like Halloween Will Be a Washout

JACKSON, Miss.–Even though Mississippi stayed dry for a long time and we need the rain, kids across the state will likely be quite disappointed to hear that Halloween will be a washout.

“We’re gonna have a pretty strong storm system that’s gonna move across the region, beginning early to mid-afternoon,” said Dan Byrd, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

That’s just in time for even early trick-or-treating.

DAN BYRD INTERVIEW

“It’s gonna continue through the evening hours.”

Byrd said the showers and storms will end late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. But there will be more showers that come in on Sunday.

Byrd said the weather probably will not get any cooler and temps could be back into the 80s by Wednesday.
