‘Social Host’ law.
It’s called the ‘Social Host’ law. Simply put, it involves the availability of alcohol to minors when they are guests in your home.
If you have teenagers and they decide to invite a few friends over, you are responsible for locking up the keys to the metaphoric liquor cabinet.
A Madison county man has been convicted of ‘Social Host’ violations at a gathering at his residence in Flora. Minors and alcohol were both present at a 2014 party in the man’s home. As a result, he’ll spend a month in jail and is ordered to pay a thousand dollars for each of eight violations of the ‘Social Host’ law.
