HOLLYWOOD, Calif.–A documentary about Eric Snowden took the Oscar for Best Documentary at the 87th Academy Awards in Hollywood Sunday night. Mississippi’s junior senator, Roger Wicker, reacted immediately on Twitter.
Academy applauds Edward Snowden, who even Sen. Dianne Feinstein says committed “an act of treason”, said Wicker’s Tweet.
“The disclosures that Edward Snowden reveals don’t only expose a threat to our privacy but to our democracy itself,” said Director Laura Poitras, in her speech. “When the most important decisions being made affecting all of us are made in secret, we lose our ability to check the powers that control.”
The film is called “Citizenfour” and was made while Snowden was made while Snowden was leaking NSA documents, considered classified.
