OXFORD, Miss.–A one-time theatrical premiere of James Franco’s adaptation of the William Faulkner book “As I Lay Dying” will be shown in Oxford soon.
Anyone is allowed to see the showing at the Lyric Theatre Monday night at 7 p.m. with special guests’ producer Lee Caplin and executive producer Heidi Jo Markel.
Written while working at the power plant at the University of Mississippi according to the Oxford Film Festival, Faulkner wrote the novel in six weeks and is consistently ranked among the top novels ever written.
The story is set in the fictitious Yoknapatawpha County which is an adaptation of Faulkner’s Lafayette County.
Much of the filming was also shot in the state of Mississippi.
Tickets are $20 and can be bought at www.oxfordfilmfestival.com or purchased at the door if they still remain on the night of the event.
