The U.S. Small Business Administration has approved Gov. Tate Reeves’ request for assistance for homeowners and businesses impacted by severe storms and tornadoes that tore through Oktibbeha and Wayne counties in December.
Home and business owners in Oktibbeha and Wayne counties along with the contiguous counties of Choctaw, Clarke, Clay, Greene, Jasper, Jones, Lowndes, Noxubee, Perry, Webster, and Winston counties are eligible to apply for loans. The loans are intended to help homeowners, small business owners, and owners of most private and non-profit organizations meet their ordinary and necessary financial obligations that cannot be met as a result of the Dec. 28-29 storms.
“These low-interest loans will help support Oktibbeha and Wayne County homeowners and businesses recover from damage sustained from the severe storms and tornadoes that Mississippi experienced in late December,” Reeves said. “The state of Mississippi will continue to use every available resource to help those impacted rebuild and recover.”
Applications for SBA disaster loans can be submitted online. The deadline for Physical Loan Applications is March 28 while the deadline to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans is Oct. 27.
