With the recent news from the National Association of Realtors that single women are buying homes at twice the rate of single men, News Mississippi decides to dig deeper and find out why.
We spoke with Sherribeth Farmer of Coldwell Banker Graham and Associates in Madison. Farmer says the national trend is mirrored in Mississippi, and these women have given the prospect of buying their first home plenty of thoughtful preparation. The have a game plan for getting their first home.
Farmer says, it’s a redesigned version of the American dream, not necessarily married-with-children.
Farmer adds that single women, on the whole, have a level of preparedness that is a great asset in finding a home. It is common for women to come with a well-researched wish list of features that expedites the process of securing that dream home.
