Singing River Health System is hosting a community health fair in response to the recent EF-2 tornado that impacted the Moss Point Community.
The health fair, which will be taking place at Pelican Landing, 6217 MS-613, in Moss Point on Sunday, July 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., aims to address the immediate and long-term health needs of individuals and families affected by the recent natural disaster.
Attendees will be provided with a wide range of health resources and information. Participants will also have the opportunity to receive various screenings, including blood pressure screenings, glucose and A1C screenings, skincare assessments, cancer screenings, and early detection information.
Healthcare providers from different specialties will be present at the event to answer any questions or assist with other health-related needs.
The event will also feature family-friendly activities and refreshments, including hamburgers and drinks, will also be provided.
According to Moss Point Mayor Billy Knight, 341 homes and businesses were either damaged or destroyed by the late-June tornado, which had winds reach up to 130 miles per hour.
