National Signing Day has become like a second Christmas for college football fans in the south.
Each year in the first week of February, high school football prospects all across the country, and occasionally the world, sign their National Letters of Intent to the college of their choosing.
Roughly 3,000 prospects will sign with Division-1 schools on Wednesday. Each school can sign up to 25 players to full scholarships each year and the signature of the NLI officially ends the recruiting process for a high school prospect.
Some players take to social media to make their announcements, others will have a “hat ceremony” where they gather in their local gym or church and make their announcement public, and some will even get the opportunity to make their announcement on national television.
Others may get a little more creative. Last signing day, Deontay Anderson, now a safety at Ole Miss, announced his college decision through a video of him skydiving:
