BROOKHAVEN, Miss.- Apparently he didn’t take too kindly to being served an arrest warrant. 32-year-old Jimmy Douglas was in the Walmart parking lot in Brookhaven when he was approached by an employee of a bail bonding company. His company had an outstanding felony warrant on Douglas.
When he went to serve him his warrant, Douglas pulled out a .22-caliber handgun and fired shots at the man.
Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell told the Clarion-Ledger that the gun then jammed, and they were able to tackle him to the ground and hold him until the police arrived.
Douglas was then booked into the Lincoln County Jail, on charges of possession/carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault, discharging/displaying/exhibiting a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear.
