WARREN COUNTY, Miss.–Shot while working on his car in his own carport Monday, Billy Neely was down, but used his cell phone to call 911 and tell them his wife did it. Mary Neely was arrested a very short ten minutes later, and her husband was taken to the hospital.
It happened in Warren County around lunch time. The husband told deputies that he and his wife had not been getting along, which may have turned out to be the understatement of the day. She had not been living with him.
Just why she may have shot him was not being discussed. Sheriff Martin Pace told media that the two did not argue first, that she just drove up and started shooting.
Billy Neely was airlifted to a Jackson hospital and thanks to the quick qork of the husband, the 911 dispatcher and deputies, Mary Neely was caught right after the shooting, with the gun right beside her in the car, according to the cops.
She’s been charged with aggravated assault.
