Jackson State’s Shedeur Sanders has signed yet another NIL deal—this time with Gatorade.
Sanders, the reigning Jerry Rice Award winner, is the first HBCU player to sign with the sports-themed beverage company. The quarterback also recently signed name, image and/or likeness (NIL) deals with Tom Brady and Beats by Dre.
“I’m honored to be a part of the Gatorade family,” he told Kyle Mosley of HBCU Legends. “First and foremost, I’m blessed. It’s a great opportunity. As a kid, I was drinking Gatorade regularly. So now that we have the opportunity to partner with them and be a part of Gatorade, I’m very blessed.”
During his freshman season with Jackson State, Sanders passed for 3,231 yards and 30 touchdowns with 8 interceptions as the Tigers won their first SWAC championship since 2007. He was also tabbed as the conference’s Freshman Player of the Year.
Other athletes that have deals with Gatorade include Serena Williams, Lionel Messi, Zion Williamson, J.J. Watt, Jayson Tatum, DK Metcalf, Candace Parker, and Trevor Lawrence.
