After breaking out ‘Shawshank Redemption’ style, inmate is still on the run from police.
The U.S. Marshals and Hinds County Sheriff’s Department are still looking for Jermaine Butler after he and two other inmates escaped from the Raymond jail on March 4.
The other two inmates have been found and brought back into custody. Deputies believe they were able to break out by chiseling a small hole in the wall, undetected by guards.
Since then the hole has been covered, and guards have increased accountability to ensure this does not happen again.
Authorities are also looking for Butler’s girlfriend, Shaniqua Williams. She is a person of interest in his escape, but has her own criminal record. Williams is wanted in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on drug charges. She has also been arrested for murder, possession of narcotics, and aggravated assault.
If you have any information on their whereabouts, contact the Sheriff’s Office at 601-974-2900 or Crime Stoppers.
