BRANDON, Miss. – A convicted sex offender is headed back to prison; and this time, he will not get out.
Cortell Rose was given a life sentence plus 55 years Monday after pleading guilty to kidnapping and murdering Lenora Edhegard last year. Rose was living next to Edhegard in Rankin County at the time but had failed to register as a sex offender. Investigators say after kidnapping and killing Edhegard, Rose stole her car, dumped her body near Tougaloo College and used her ATM and credit cards.
