The National Weather Service has confirmed that the threat of severe weather has decreased since it was predicted earlier this week, but they won’t be ruling out any isolated storms causing damage.
Update 12:15 p.m.– The tornado spotted in Latimer has moved over Van Cleave and seems to be loosing steam. It is still dangerous, but appears to be slowing down.
It is 8 miles west of Escatawpa.
A waterspout was also reported off the coast in front of Beauvior which is east of Gulfport.
The tornado warning for Jackson County remains in effect until 12:30.
Update 11:45 a.m. – A tornado warning is in effect for Harrison and Jackson Counties until 12:15 p.m.
A tornado was spotted in Latimer around NE Harrison County and NW Jackson County. The storm is moving through Ocean Springs and Gulf hills NE around 30 mph.
Greene, George, Perry, and Stone Counties are all under a severe thunderstorm warning.

This is the second wave of severe weather for the week. Wednesday night a surge of storms hit central Mississippi leaving damage in the Brookhaven area. There were down power lines and over 9,000 people without power. Brookhaven schools were cancelled and Madison Central High School was delayed until 9:00 a.m.
