Severe weather is expected across the state today. Much of the state is under a limited threat advisory, with severe storms possible bringing heavy wind, hail, and the possibility of tornadoes. In Northeast Mississippi, the tornado threat is greater with severe storms capable of producing 60 mph winds, quarter size hail, and a few tornadoes possible.
The timeline shows storms continuing to kick up over the next few hours in Nortwest Mississippi between now and 10, then From Natchez up and into Columbus until 1pm, and then storms are possible throughout the day from Hattiesburg up through Meridian and just east of Columbus.
Looking at temps for the day, highs getting into the 70’s in North Mississippi, with overnight lows plummeting into the 30’s. Central Mississippi, Temps will be closer to 80 as the storms roll through, with lows in the 40’s.. and for South Mississippi, low 80’s for the high, with overnight temps in the upper 40’s.
