JACKSON, Miss.–You probably heard thunder and saw flashes of lightening Thursday. Friday afternoon and Friday night may bring more thunderstorms, with a higher risk of severe weather across the state.
The best chance for severe storms was expected north and central, with a slightly smaller risk south, according to the National Weather Service.
You might see damaging winds of 60 mph and hail, some the size of quarters or golf balls.
Once Saturday gets here, you’ll see sun and cooler temps, in the low 70s.
The Weather Service said Friday morning that there may be another system to move through late next week, and they are still putting that forecast together. But, early indications are there could be some rough stuff with that system as well.
